After years of hands-on involvement with the Patriot Foundation, Kim Gilley is now a part of the team in an official capacity, as the President / CEO. Kim has been involved with Patriot Foundation since 2008. Her primary responsibility has been preparing all aspects of communication for the organization, from printed materials to web, social media, event planning and other aspects that make a ‘foundation run.’
Kim’s career began as the advertising and public relations manager for the Pinehurst Resort. In 1986, she formed her own advertising, public relations agency. She was a member of the NC Travel Council as well as an associate member of the Golf Writers Association of America. In 1988, she was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Sandhills Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1999, she was again recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Chamber. Throughout the years, she has served on a wide variety of boards including the Chamber, Pinehurst Business Guild, Southern Pines Business Association, FirstHealth Auxiliary Board, Professional Women’s Network and a founding member of Executive Women’s Network. Kim has also been heavily involved in the non-profit world. She served as the Chairman of the Board for the Moore County United Way, the Child Care Connections and Pinetree Enterprises. Kim and her husband Tony owned and operated a commercial printing company for many years in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
